Design Studio on 2nd is an award-winning team of designers, architects, structural engineers, and builders, specializing in design-build, renovations, and interior design. From initial space planning to construction, we guide every project with care.
Rooted in Long Beach through our founder, Monica Ledesma, our family-owned, boutique studio approaches every project personally. Growing up in the city she loves, Monica brings her deep connection to the community into each design. As a small, close-knit team, we take the time to understand our clients and their stories, treating every home as if it were our own. The spaces we create reflect the lives, personalities, and memories of the people who live in them—beautiful, functional, and full of heart.

Inspired by her grandmother, an architect and kitchen designer, Monica discovered her love for design at a young age. With over 25 years of experience in the industry, Monica approaches design with intention, balance, and care.
Being a Long Beach native, she draws inspiration from each home’s individuality, creating spaces that celebrate their character and incorporate wellness-focused design for comfortable, everyday living.

Viviana brings a genuine passion for design and a natural eye for detail to every project. Having grown up in Colombia and inspired by her love of travel, she brings a thoughtful, global perspective to her work.
After five years at Design Studio on 2nd, she’s known for her friendly, collaborative spirit and her ability to shape spaces that feel thoughtful, comfortable, and welcoming.
